Kristiansand is a festival city, and The South of Norway (or Sørlandet) plays host to many a festival.
Throughout the summer its coastal towns abound with things to see and do. The International Church Music Festival is known far and wide for the scope of its programme, and its appeal to lovers of culture of all ages. The festival runs in August. International and Norwegian artistes, choirs and orchestra bring the city to life during the duration of the festival, with major concerts in the cathedral and a series of more intimate concerts at smaller venues.
