Sørlandet 2010 - Off season tips

Even though most tourists come here to enjoy summer and sunshine, there is, in fact, flourishing cultural life the whole year round. You can enjoy a number of festivals, - especially the International Church Festival, operas, art exhibitions, concerts and theatre performances. Go fishing or feel the wind in your hair while experiencing a storm at the Lindesnes lighthouse.

The southern part of Norway is a great place to be – all year round.

Why not go for a walk through the renaissance town of Kristiansand?
Posebyen, covering 10 blocks, contains Northern Europe’s largest collection of low, terraced, white wooden houses, dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.

In the opposite part of the town, you’ll find the fishmarket, "Fiskebrygga”, selling live fish and shellfish. Just outside the city centre, there’s a recreational area, Baneheia, with marked walking and skiing trails. The peninsula of Odderøya, with cliffs and walking paths, offers a great view.
